Milestones

You had another check up at the doctor. 8 lbs and 14 oz and 20 inches long! BOY OH BOY! Someone has asked what we're feeding you. Daddy jokes and says we could afford to feed you steak for less money than what formula costs. But thank goodness for the kindness of others who have helped us by purchasing a can here or there. We so appreciate it!

You had to get a shot today. Actually, you were supposed to get to get three but mommy just couldn't bear it. We will go back for one at a time. You screamed and your face turned bright red. Just let it be known that I am so sorry. It hurt me to watch you in pain. But they assure me this is what's best for you.

The doctor also told mommy and daddy we need to move you to your room ... and that we have to start letting you cry. Elijah Riley, you are already so spoiled! Doesn't he know that I waited so long to hold you in my arms?! I want to hold you as much as I can. After all, at the rate you're growing, you'll be too big for me to hold in no time.

You were quite the celebrity in the office today. One of the nurses goes to our church and brought in the article about your adoption from the church newsletter. The doctor and several of the other nurses commented on what a miracle you are. Sometimes I still look at you and think how on earth did I get to be this blessed?

We've spent the better part of the past few days outside because you enjoy the warm weather so much! You rest so peacefully on the porch in your swing or bouncey seat and I am thrilled that you are so content. You've also graduated out of the carseat at night (praise the Lord). While you're not yet in your crib, you have come to know the papazon swing as your new night time spot. (Of course that is when you're not sleeping curled up in my arms! What does the doctor think about that???)

I love you sweet boy.

Wow Elijah, you are a big boy, still smaller than my nephew when he came out of the womb, but he was a very big baby....keep growing strong! :-)
