There is so much going on - today marked the class of 2008's graduation at Liberty. I sat and watched as parents, grandparents, siblings and friends gathered in support of their graduate. They cheered and clapped, hugged and cried. They presented flowers and balloons, but mostly they beamed with glowing faces. I watched them in awe - knowing that, for some, this was an accomplishment they may have never dreamed possible. For others, the beginning of new opportunity. Maybe even a few who had overcome great advertsity to reach this point. It filled me with pride and excitement just wondering about the stories behind each cap & gown. Tassels were turned and families stood and cheered. They had done it.
Tomorrow is Mother's Day and I don't know what I would do without my dear mother. She has certainly had her hands full with me! I have always been the one to challenge, question and ask 'why?'. (Sorry mom.) But this is a time to honor her friendship, her strength, her servant heart, her unconditional love and undying support. Thanks mom, I love you.
This past Monday, the 2008 Selah Yearbook was released at our Cinco de Mayo release party. What an absolute blast! It is a breath-taking work of art. If you don't have a copy, GET ONE FAST! We have less than 60 left! I am so filled with pride at how it turned out - knowing how hard my students have worked.
Monday I'll drive on campus and the parking lots will be empty and the sidewalks won't be bustling with students hurrying to class. It is always a bittersweet time of year. I am looking forward to a little bit of 'calm' as I settle into summer break.
