Bye bye Jibberish

I always say I want to keep a journal of the things Elijah says and does because I know when he's grown I won't remember. He keeps us thoroughly entertained. He's talking in full sentences now - leaving the baby talk behind.

He wants "dippy dip" (any kind of dipping sauce) with everything - and I mean EVERYTHING he eats. He calls hot dogs "diggity dogs" from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He still calls cars "choo choos" although he's starting to differentiate "trucks."

He can throw a full-on temper tantrum with the best of them, proving wholeheartedly he's every bit of 28 months and all boy. If you say "Come here" he takes off running in the other direction saying "run, run, run" - turning everything into a game of chase and "tickle."

He eats apples whole and asks for them several times a day. No peeling or slicing - just give him the whole thing and he'll tear into it at least halfway.

He sings the last word of every phrase in his favorite songs, which currently are "You Are My Sunshine," "Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho," and "My God is So Big."

I love watching the world through his eyes. It's hard to be unhappy or worried about the "world" around you when he brings so much joy.










Enjoying his new car table (gotta love consignment shops)! He also loves to squeeze into all kinds of tight places.










The whole neighborhood came out to play in the sandbox. And for the first time ever he kept a hat on while enjoying the playground at church.










Spaghetti dinner at Nana's - not sure how much made it INTO his belly but enough sure made it ON - who needs a plate?!










Enjoying a 90 degree day in September with, of course, an apple.




Trying something new - Learning to play with (not eat) Playdoh!
