A White Christmas?!

I can't remember the last time we may have had a white Christmas in Lynchburg, Virginia. I think, maybe, I can recall flurries - probably only enough for a dusting - at least 6-8 years ago...but NEVER in my life have we had a real white Christmas.


And here comes the snow. So they say...


Forgive me if I don't have a lot of faith in the weather forecasters. We are one of the most difficult regions to predict weather and RARELY does it seem they forecase snow correctly...but nonetheless, they are asking us to brace for a Winter Storm Warning with accumulations of more than 12 inches. REALLY?! A foot of snow???



Now, I do realize Christmas is one week from today, but if we really get a foot or more of snow and it remains in the 30's all week like they are predicting, then, we might just have a White Christmas.



Usually I am the first one to PRAY earnestly (is that really biblical?!) for the snowfall. And typically I'm the one singing "Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow..." But somehow I am really not ready for this winter wonderland to captivate me inside the house. My shopping isn't done. I didn't run out to the grocery store and get all the staples. I am looking forward to a concert on Sunday morning with Calling Levi and a candlelight evening service. So, while I usually welcome the white stuff, I really am not prepared to get snowed in. Too bad it can't hold off for a couple of days. Next week would fit my schedule much better! :)


But despite my schedule and the unpredictability of the weather, we will wait and see if we are only dreaming of a White Christmas...or if it may be a reality for us.
