Little Boy

It is really hard to believe that a year ago we were marking Elijah's first time rolling over or the fact that he was sleeping through the night. Those accomplishments, albeit small to most, were monumental discoveries for us as new parents. In the past few weeks, really, we have repeatedly heard comments referencing our 'little boy.' It's true. Our baby is turning into a little boy. Yes, we still have the toddler stage to cling to before the terrible 2's and the threatening 3's...but we are already talking about pre-school next year and researching what's the best program. WHAT?! How did this happen???

I know all babies grow into adults but it happens so fast! I find myself trying to mindfully savor each day - to relish the new discoveries and each stage. But I feel like as soon as I appreciate one stage, it's over and we're onto the next one. I'm finding myself wanting to throw a onesie on my "baby" just to make him look a little less like a toddler and a little more like a baby. Still, I love every minute and I love the little "person" he's becoming. He is so much fun!
