Ordinarily, I wouldn't be singing that tune on a crazy Monday. Especially one that simply just didn't go as planned.
The day started okay, only to abruptly turn. It's amazing how a change of plans can seem to upset your whole day and attitude. It shouldn't. I had spent a sweet time with the Lord and not a half hour later, I was ashamedly leaving my testimony at the backdoor. How can I be so selfish and immature?!
I'll spare you the details of the day, but by the time I got home the "icing on the cake" was a $318 bill from the air conditioning repair that had to be done today (also part of the upsetting morning). Great. Just great.
I got the mail and threw it on the table - trying to cover up the bill as if it'd go away.
Ed began opening envelopes and all I heard him say was, "That's timely." He put something on the table.
My curiosity got the best of me. Was that a check? Sure enough. For who? Written to Ed Barnhouse. For what? Reimbursement for over payment. For how much? $218?! Really?!
Wow...so, if I had found $100 in my pocket I wouldn't have been more shocked. How in the world could it happen that on the very day we owe an expected $318 bill we get a reimbursement of $218? ONLY GOD. PRAISE YOU, FATHER.
Thankfully, the evening has gone much better. And to top it all off, Elijah fell asleep in my arms. I cherish those times.
