It's the eve of the birthday - the big first birthday.
On 5/7/08 I penned these words: "In my mind and heart, I'm preparing for parenthood - to unconditionally love a child that is not my own - and I don't know how I'll react. Will it be instant? Natural? Will I feel like a mother? What about Ed? Lord, please prepare our hearts. I have my hopes set on this summer but I just don't want to get ahead of You."
5/8/08, a year ago today: "Ed rearranged the new bedroom set in the green room to leave a corner spot open for a crib...so the green room is ready and waiting to become a nursery. I was so excited I set out a few little things that I've gotten for the baby."
MIND YOU...WE HAD NO IDEA THAT ONE DAY LATER ELIJAH RILEY WOULD BE BORN. We were not chosen until 5/22!
Oh how I praise His name and thank Him for His sovereign plan in our lives! I can't begin to express how this little boy has blessed me - blessed us - blessed our family! We prayed, and He answered.
Tomorrow we celebrate his first birthday. What a blessed year it has been!
