Meet the Family

Uncle Gregg & Cousin Alyssa - just 5 days younger than Eli

Your new best friend, Jackson.

Loved (and spoiled rotten) by wonderful grandparents.

Grandpa Barnhouse says he's bringing you the birds to grow up with.

You were fussy today, sweet one. I knew your belly was hurting but I couldn't do anything to make it stop. I tried the drops, rocking you, holding you in different positions. You seemed to only calm down when I would hold you directly on my chest. Heart to heart, you rested.
Elijah, I have the most wonderful story to tell you. You were so little and several weeks early when you were born so they sent you to the Neonatal Nursery. The nurse who cared for you during the first hours of your life - even giving you your first bath - is a friend of mommy's! Elijah, she knew you were going to be placed for adoption and she held you in the hospital and prayed over you. She had no idea who your parents would be but she prayed for Godly, Christian people to love and care for you. Oh, my sweet baby, you have been prayed for and over even before I ever laid eyes on you!
Today I pulled out one of the blankets your birthmother gave you. Elijah, I want you to always know how much Sara loved you - enough to choose life for you; enough to choose us for your parents. We are so grateful to her. We want you to always know you are so special - you are the bond between two families. You will have qualities and characteristics that resemble your birthfamily in ways we may not even know. And yet, you'll learn and experience things your daddy and I teach you. You have helped to show us the kind of love God has when He adopts each of us as sons and daughters. Unconditional, full, everlasting love.
Rest now, little one. You've had a long day. I love you.

I love that last quote. My mom had a print of that made and framed for me to hang in my room when I was younger. I loved it. Congratulations again and I am glad to see you guys are home so quickly.
