Happy Mother's Day!

I have to admit that Mother's Day has usually been a reminder of what I was not. I had determined to make this year a celebration of the blessing of what I've been given in my own mother and not focus on what I was longing for.

Little did I know, you had already made your entrance into the world just two days before Mother's Day, even though I didn't know you existed or that you would be mine. I told daddy he owed me next year since I didn't get my own celebration this year.

Your daddy surprised me big time when he called me into the room saying you needed me. There you sat in your swing with a gift box on your lap and a note that said "Happy Belated Mother's Day". Inside was a beautiful past present future diamond necklace! He's so good!










As if I wasn't feeling enough like a mom, I was trying to do some housework and you were feeling fussy. I decided to try you in the front pack while I vacuumed and you loved it! We went around the house, the two of us, cleaning and before I knew it my job was done and you were fast asleep!













Your good friend Grady came for a visit. He's got you beat by a few months and about 10 pounds. Last year we were cruising the Caribbean with his mom and dad and this year we're both rocking our babies. Oh how life has changed - and we couldn't be happier. Now if we can only convince daddy that a Disney cruise would make a great family vacation!
